Why Enzymes?
Enzymes are required to keep us alive and functioning. They are an essential component of life for humans, animals, and plants. They are necessary for every chemical reaction in our bodies and are required for normal functioning of every organ and system of our being. Enzymes keep our hearts beating, keep us breathing and our nervous system working, control the action of our muscles, our minds, and even help us think. They support our body’s defenses and immune system.
The human body cannot function without enzymes making it happen. Enzymes enable the digestive system to work. Without them we cannot adequately digest what we eat. They are essential for the production of energy required for our bodies to function and aid in converting food into flesh, bone, muscle, nerves, and glands.
What Are Enzymes?
Enzymes are proteins taken from food and made by the body. They are found in all living cells. There are three types of enzymes:
· Food enzymes are present in all raw food
· Metabolic enzymes are produced by the organs of the body to control biochemical processes
· Digestive enzymes are produced by the body to digest food
All raw foods have enzymes built into them. When we eat a plant or fruit, the enzymes are released to help us digest the plant. Enzymes control the metabolic activity in our body. Metabolic enzymes are produced by our internal organs and enable the chemical reactions within our cells to release energy and feed the cells. Food enzymes are destroyed when we eat food that has been processed or frozen.
Enzymes power the digestive system. We need to supplement our diets with enzymes to aid in the digestion process and nutrient absorption. Without enzymes we can’t adequately digest what we eat.
Do I Need Enzyme Supplementation?
Humans are the only animals on the planet that cook their food. Our bodies are designed to eat raw food. All unprocessed foods contain enzymes. When food is cooked the enzymes that enable the digestive process to work are destroyed. This destruction can cause poor health due to the inability the body’s inability to properly digest food. It is vital to good health to digest and eliminate our food efficiently.
Our fast-paced lifestyle, overcooked foods, stress, alcohol, and smoking place demands on our systems and our enzyme production needs. Enzymes are the basis of good health. These attacks on the body’s ability to produce and utilize our enzymes lead to difficulties in fending off disease.
Enzyme supplementation is an essential component of digestive health. When food is only partially digested a cascade of events is set in motion that ultimately can lead to serious disease processes. Digestion is the key component to avoiding ill health and insuring a viable life style.
Look at the store shelves loaded with products to relieve digestion conditions such as gas, bloating, excess acid, and heartburn. A shortage of enzymes can cause conditions such as fatigue, diarrhea, constipation, gas, headaches, colon problems, high cholesterol, food allergies, and diabetes. These conditions can become chronic, degenerative diseases, in time. Enzyme therapy with Integrated Health Products and diet modification can help prevent these conditions.
What Are The Symptoms Of Enzyme Deficiency?
In looking at most illness an enzyme deficiency may be the cause. All of the following enzymes are orally administered and help the digestive process, plus are absorbed into the blood circulation. The symptoms of enzyme deficiency include:
Protease Insufficiency: The start of protein digestion is in the stomach and continues into the small intestine. High blood pressure, insomnia, back problems, parasites, constipation, and candida can be the result if the body is not producing enough enzymes to break down the protein food elements. Undigested proteins can disguise toxins in the blood that can prevent the immune system from recognizing and responding to them.
Amylase Insufficiency: The main source of energy for our body is from carbohydrates. By breaking down the carbohydrate/starch, energy is created for our cells to use. Amylase is the enzyme needed for this task. An excess of starch and other undigested carbohydrates can create insulin deficiencies such as diabetes, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, sleep disorders, allergic reactions, skin problems, cold hands and feet, depression, mood swings and hot flashes.
Lipase Insufficiency: Fats are needed by the body to help process fat-soluble vitamins, such as A, D, E, and K. The lack of fat digestion can lead to those deficiencies. Lipase deficiency can lead to acne, arthritis, psoriasis, heart problems, cystitis, and diarrhea.
Additional problems that can be caused by a lack of more than one of the above enzymes include chronic allergies, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue, and the common cold.
Integrated Health Products
Our products have been developed over many years, through hundreds of evaluations and patient case studies. These products are all natural, plant-based enzymes to aid in digestion and elimination.
The following is a list of current enzyme products available through Integrated Health Products:
MEAL SUPPORT:
This product is a critical blend of essential digestive enzymes primarily made up of amylase, protease, and lipase. Meal Support was designed to make up for the loss of digestive enzymes that our food had in its raw state, before we cooked and processed it. Our formulation will help digest protein, fat, starches, sugars, carbohydrates, and fiber in our diet. Meal Support is the single most important dietary supplement in any daily regimen.
PROTEIN SUPPORT:
Our unique formula is a synergistic blend of protease and calcium formulated to provide optimal protein absorption. In addition, Protein Support was designed to be taken on an empty stomach, in the morning and at night, to help digest previously undigested proteins. This product is extremely important to help maintain acid/alkaline balance (blood pH), immune response, and overall homeostasis within the digestive system. Protein Support is an essential enzyme supplement that will help insure proper digestion and elimination.
FAT SUPPORT:
The formulation of lipase, together with protease, was designed to maximize fat digestion and absorption in both the digestive tract and in the blood. Fat Support is intended to be taken on an empty stomach, in the morning and at night, to help digest previously undigested fats. Fat Support is extremely important in regulating triglycerides and is also essential for anyone who has had their gallbladder removed or eats a high fat diet.
About Us:
Our goal is to teach the power and importance proper diet and digestion plays in the role of positive health. The emphasis of Dr. Steinberg’s Integrated Health Products is directed toward enzyme supplementation, body/organ system’s support, and cleansing. We take great pride in producing the finest herbal and enzyme formulas available today. Significant time, research, and experience have gone into the development of our products.
